Como é do conhecimento geral, penso eu, está em exibição na RTP o programa "Grandes Portugueses" em que o objectivo, como o próprio nome sugere, é escolher o maior português de todos os tempos. Nos 10 finalistas encontramos nomes tais como Álvaro Cunhal, Salazar, Vasco da Gama, D. Afonso Henriques, D. João II, Marquês de Pombal, Aristides de Sousa Mendes, Fernando Pessoa, Camões e o Infante D. Henrique. Eu já tenho o voto decidido e como não é secreto vou partilhá-lo. Apesar de todos estes homens se terem distinguido e de terem contribuído de alguma forma para o país que hoje temos, há um que eu considero o Grande Português, o nosso Rei D. Afonso Henriques, o primeiro Rei de Portugal, o Fundador desta nossa nação. Porque se não fosse este senhor ter um sonho e tê-lo levado a avante, talvez sim fossemos todos espanhóis. D. Afonso Henriques conquistou este território e fez de nós PORTUGUESES. E tenho-o dito :P
